HD Deve Gowda Sends Prajwal Abroad

Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah has asserted that, in the wake of accusations of sexual assault, former prime minister HD Deve Gowda assisted his grandson, Janata Dal-Secular MP Prajwal Revanna, in escaping to Germany last month. “I believe Prajwal was dispatched by Deve Gowda himself. Taking a shot at a public letter issued by the former prime minister on Thursday, which warned his grandson to surrender or face the “anger of the family,” he stated, “The letter now written by him is only for public consumption.” The former PM added in his letter, which was posted on X, that he had advised his grandson to “immediately” return to India and to stop “testing my patience any further.” In letters to Prime Minister Modi, Siddaramaiah has pleaded with the Center to revoke Revanna’s diplomatic passport. “On May 18, while en route to the temple for pooja, I gave an interview to the media regarding Prajwal Revanna. The shock and pain he put on me, my entire family, my coworkers, friends, and party staff took some time for me to get over. As I have stated, if he is found guilty, the maximum penalty allowed by law should be meted out to him. Since the day the controversy surfaced, my son, the late Shri. H.D. Kumaraswamy, the chief minister of Karnataka, has supported this position,” the author stated. Siddaramaiah has been writing to PM Modi for the past month, pleading with the Centre to revoke his diplomatic passport, which he is purportedly using to leave the nation. “He has abused his diplomatic privileges to flee the country and to escape criminal proceedings,” stated Siddaramaiah. One day after the Karnataka constituency’s voting ended on April 27, the 33-year-old NDA candidate from Hassan fled the nation.

You can feel Mr. Deve Gowda’s pain and betrayal in his letter

A JDS MLA named HD Revanna is also charged with kidnapping and abuse. After being detained earlier this month, he is currently out on bond. The case concerns a guy who claims to have abducted his mother, a housemaid who worked for him for six years. According to the accused, his mother vanished soon after a video showing Prajwal Revanna abusing her sexually became viral. Mt the end of the letter, Deve Gowda gives Prajwal a harsh ultimatum: go back to India and comply with the legal process. Gowda issues a warning, saying that Prajwal will face total seclusion and his family’s fury if he disobeys this order. He promised not to meddle in the judicial process, nor would any member of his family.
“There’s only one thing I can do right now. I can give Prajwal a severe warning, request that he come back from wherever he is, and turn himself into the police. He ought to go through the judicial process. I am putting out a caution here, not appealing. He will have to deal with my wrath as well as the wrath of his entire family if he disregards this warning. The legal system will handle the accusations made against him, but he will remain completely isolated if he doesn’t pay attention to his family. The letter from Mr. Deve Gowda says, “If he still has any respect for me, he ought to come back right away.

Sources claim that the Karnataka government’s appeal is presently being processed by the MEA in this respect

“The Karnataka government has written to the MEA seeking that MP Prajwal Revanna’s diplomatic passport be revoked. This is being processed, according to sources cited by a news organization. Following the widespread release of a pen drive allegedly holding his pornographic recordings, Revanna is wanted in counts of sexual abuse. He moved to Germany when his tapes went public and a woman brought legal action against him. On Thursday, Deve Gowda sent an open letter to those defaming the family because of Prajwal’s sex scandal. There’s only one thing I can do at this point. I can give Prajwal a severe warning, request that he come back from wherever he is, and turn himself into the police. He ought to go through the judicial process. I’m not just appealing here; I’m sending a warning.
Deve Gowda claimed in the letter published on X that he had already declared that, in the event that he is found guilty, he should get the worst possible punishment. Furthermore, I can’t make people believe that I was ignorant of Prajwal’s actions. I can’t make them believe that I don’t want to protect him. I can’t make them believe that I don’t know where he is or that I didn’t know he was traveling abroad. I think I should follow my conscience. I have faith in God, and I am aware that He is all-knowing.

The chief minister implored Prime Minister Modi to acknowledge the issue and handle it with “utmost seriousness”

“It is abhorrent that on April 27, 2024, Mr. Prajwal Revanna, a member of parliament from the Hassan constituency and a former prime minister’s grandson, fled the country to Germany using his diplomatic passport, number D 1135500, just hours before the first police report was made against him.” Revanna is also running for re-election in the current general elections. The letter stated, “He has exploited his diplomatic privileges to leave the nation and avoid facing criminal charges.” The letter went on to say that the Karnataka government had established a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to fulfill the purposes of justice promptly. “It is investigating the alleged crimes of Mr Prajwal Revanna against women and is making efforts to secure the presence of the accused to face the criminal charges.” Revanna departed the country shortly after the ‘obscene videos’ arose, only hours before the first FIR was lodged against him. The Karnataka government corresponded with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on May 23.
The chief minister of Karnataka continued, stating that it was a “matter of serious concern that Prajwal Revanna has managed to remain in hiding to this day” in spite of the fact that he had been the subject of a police report and a lookout circular. “It is disheartening that my previous letter raising similar concerns on the issue has not, to the best of my knowledge, been acted upon despite the gravity of the situation,” added Siddaramaiah.
